Welcome - Let’s talk about motivation.
Staying motivated is hard!
Lives are busy. Exercise is hard. Long days can be tiring. It takes time to see results. It can be hard to keep up with exercise.
This is understandable. There will be some days where you feel like you can’t do your exercises. There will be some days where you feel disheartened.
However, exercise programs are most effective if you put in the work and keep at it.
Visualisation can help!
One way to help when you don't feel motivated is to visualise how good you'll feel after doing the exercise.
Imagine the light at the end of the tunnel! How relieved you'll be to have gotten those exercises done!
Habits grow stronger with time
Just as muscles can be trained to become stronger, so too can the brain.
By pushing through doubt and doing exercises anyway, you train the brain to become stronger! You will see that you can do it.
Just take it 1 week at a time.
You will find that the exercises become easier to do over time as your muscles get stronger.
Find some support
You don’t have to go through this on your own.
Social support helps make creating new habits easier!
Congratulations!
You have chosen to take control of your health!
You have now a great evidence based program built just for you in your app. Now lets jump into the your daily exercises.
We recommend you set up regular reminders to help you through the program.
And remember, the exercises will get more advanced as you go along and build your muscle strength, so you’ll notice that next week’s exercises will look a little different. Don’t worry, you can do it!
Try finding someone you know who will help perform the exercises with you, or remind you to do them if you forget.
You might find a walking or swimming buddy to help you get up and be more active.
Remaining active in your life will help increase the use of your muscles and reduce the pain from continued arthritis damage.
Let’s get started with today’s exercises!
