Why Does Opum Need to Run in the Background?

Sometimes I See a Battery Usage Message
If you see a notification indicating that the Opum App is using battery resources, it is important to know that any Android app that runs in the background will affect your phone's battery life.
To Hide the Battery Usage Notification:

From the phone, swipe down from the top to display your notifications.

Press and hold the Battery notification, then select the option to turn it off.

Select Done.
Why Does the Opum Notification Pop Back Up?
If you reboot your phone the notification may display again, this is expected and nothing to worry about.
